Gas-fired wall-hung boilers, originating in Europe, have a history spanning several centuries. Today, European wall-hung boilers are renowned for their long-standing heritage, mature technology, and superior quality, making them a market favorite. The full name of this appliance is “gas-fired wall-hung boiler.” Compared with gas instantaneous water heaters, it is a rapid-heating device without a hot-water storage tank; however, the two differ fundamentally in design. Wall-hung boilers offer robust centralized heating for residential use, capable of meeting the heating needs of multiple rooms, while also providing hot-water supply for bathing. The heating performance of a gas-fired wall-hung boiler is influenced by local climate conditions and the thermal insulation of the building. These units are equipped with comprehensive safety features, including freeze protection, dry-boil protection, accidental flame-out protection, over-temperature protection, and pump anti-lock protection. They can also be connected to an indoor thermostat to enable personalized temperature control and energy savings. Statistics show that using an indoor thermostat can reduce gas costs by 20% to 28%. What factors affect the gas consumption of gas-fired wall-hung boilers? First, local climate conditions: the average winter temperature in a given area plays a crucial role in selecting the appropriate boiler. Although the desired indoor temperature remains constant throughout the winter, a lower average winter temperature allows for a higher heating output from the wall-hung boiler, whereas a higher average temperature permits a reduced heating output. Second, building insulation: many large cities in northern China have adopted three-step energy-saving measures, enabling indoor temperatures to reach the standard range of 13°C to 15°C even without active heating systems. In contrast, new homes in some smaller cities and rural areas often follow traditional construction practices. Consequently, the heating power requirements for wall-hung boilers vary significantly between these two types of buildings—lower for the former and higher for the latter. Gas-fired wall-hung boilers differ from other gas appliances in that they are installed in specific locations and consume substantial amounts of gas, making them products with stringent safety requirements. Therefore, all such boilers must pass rigorous safety and environmental standards before being placed on the market. As product technology advances, testing standards are continually updated, and each type of gas-fired wall-hung boiler has its own precise, dedicated safety inspection criteria.
